Additional Equipment:
This vessel is currently in the water and being lived aboard, she can be shown by appointment. She was completely refit in 2002 and cruised from the equator to the Arctic each year through 2013.
She is in near sailaway condition and is capable of going anywhere in the world. After 25 years in the "adventure cruising/expedition" business, the sellers have decided to move on to their next adventure.
Their adventure cruising/expedition business may be available to the right buyer.
The vessel does not have a USCG COI. She is a USCG Documented and inspected vessel with a Jones Act exemption that allows her to carry up to 12 passengers.
This vessel cruises at ~7.5Knots with the engine running at ~350RPM while consuming 7-8 GPH (includes both the engine and generator).
The engine is a low revolution Dutch Built Industrie engine, typically maintained by an on board engineer. She is manually oiled every 3-4 hours. Parts are still available for this engine, though it has run and continues to run flawlessly over the last 200, 000 miles under the watchful eyes of her Owner/Captain/Engineer.
This vessel is so sound that the Owner states that he would not hesitate to go transatlantic or make another Arctic expedition with family and friends on board. She was built for the rugged North Seas and has an integral collision bulkhead in the bow that can serve double duty as another fresh water storage tank containing 1500 gallons.
The owner states she is ready to sailaway upon completion of a topsides repaint. She had new bottom paint, fresh zincs installed in August of 2015, after which she was launched and made a 30 hour run from Maine to Massachusetts where she awaits her next owner..
Her Corten Steel hull was Audio Gauged and found to be in very good condition. This report may be available to an interested buyer for a fee.
Hot water for domestic purposes and space heating is provided by a propane fired boiler. The vessel usually carries 5 100# propane cylinders on board.
